# Edinburgh Live vs GB News

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Edinburgh Live at none against GB News's 2. Edinburgh Live also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.6). GB News's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (35% vs 25%). On price, update cadence, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GB News sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $10.00 per month. Edinburgh Live asks for nothing beyond the download.

Edinburgh Live holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GB News has 104 ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of Edinburgh Live's written reviews are positive against 35% of GB News's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Edinburgh Live ships an update monthly, GB News every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 21, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
