# TotalPass vs Starbem

TotalPass and Starbem both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 53% of Starbem's written reviews are positive against 16% of TotalPass's. TotalPass's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for TotalPass against 4.9 for Starbem. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1.7K and 4.4K respectively. Written reviews are what separate them: 16% of TotalPass's written reviews are positive against 53% of Starbem's.

TotalPass ships an update weekly, Starbem fortnightly. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
