# MiniCarta vs Poi Pinner

The clearest difference is update cadence: Poi Pinner at every 2 months against MiniCarta's every 6 months. MiniCarta's advantage is iOS requirement (12.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MiniCarta sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month and Poi Pinner sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MiniCarta ships an update every 6 months, Poi Pinner every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
