# Forma vs Shape Tracker

The clearest difference is rating: Forma at 4.8 against Shape Tracker's 4.3. Forma also leads on ratings volume (264 vs 6) and update cadence (every 5 days vs fortnightly). Shape Tracker's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Forma sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Shape Tracker asks for nothing beyond the download.

Forma holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Forma has 264 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 94% of Forma's written reviews are positive against 100% of Shape Tracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Forma ships an update every 5 days, Shape Tracker fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
