# Forma vs Shagulin

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Shagulin at none against Forma's 4. Shagulin also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Forma's advantage is ratings volume (264 vs 5). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Forma sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Shagulin asks for nothing beyond the download.

Shagulin holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Forma has 264 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 94% of Forma's written reviews are positive against 90% of Shagulin's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Forma ships an update every 5 days, Shagulin weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
