# Idle Evolution vs Critical

Idle Evolution and Critical both sit at 4.2 stars, but that hides the real split: 43% of Idle Evolution's written reviews are positive against 18% of Critical's. On price, rating, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Idle Evolution sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and Critical sells 17 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Critical holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 268 and 125 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of Idle Evolution's written reviews are positive against 18% of Critical's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Idle Evolution ships an update every 11 days, Critical fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
