# Split Screen View vs Browser

The clearest difference is ads: Browser at none against Split Screen View's shown. Browser also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). Split Screen View's advantage is ratings volume (839 vs 16) and rating (4.4 vs 4.1). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Split Screen View sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Browser sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Split Screen View holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Split Screen View has 839 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 19% of Split Screen View's written reviews are positive against 21% of Browser's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Split Screen View ships an update every 6 weeks, Browser fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
