# Layal vs Nous

The clearest difference is ads: Nous at none against Layal's shown. Nous also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 6 months) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). Layal's advantage is review sentiment (95% vs 67%) and monetization model (ad-supported vs freemium). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Nous holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 20 and 13 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 95% of Layal's written reviews are positive against 67% of Nous's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Layal ships an update every 6 months, Nous every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
