# Brushes for Procreate vs Premium Brushes

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Premium Brushes at 87% against Brushes for Procreate's 48%. Premium Brushes also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months). Brushes for Procreate's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (20K vs 112). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Brushes for Procreate sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Premium Brushes sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Brushes for Procreate holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brushes for Procreate has 20K ratings behind it against 112, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of Brushes for Procreate's written reviews are positive against 87% of Premium Brushes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Brushes for Procreate ships an update every 2 months, Premium Brushes every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
