# UVCeed vs Airthings

UVCeed and Airthings both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 75% of UVCeed's written reviews are positive against 33% of Airthings's. UVCeed also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Airthings's advantage is ratings volume (3K vs 8) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for UVCeed against 4.4 for Airthings. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Airthings has 3K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 75% of UVCeed's written reviews are positive against 33% of Airthings's.

UVCeed ships an update every 2 months, Airthings fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
