# SnapMath vs Automath

The clearest difference is ads: Automath at none against SnapMath's shown. Automath also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.5) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). SnapMath's advantage is review sentiment (59% vs 29%) and update cadence (every 8 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SnapMath sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Automath sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Automath holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SnapMath has 1.6K ratings behind it against 273, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 59% of SnapMath's written reviews are positive against 29% of Automath's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SnapMath ships an update every 8 days, Automath every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
