# Lawn Care Journal vs TreeSmith

The clearest difference is rating: TreeSmith at 5.0 against Lawn Care Journal's 4.6. TreeSmith also leads on iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.6). Lawn Care Journal's advantage is ratings volume (393 vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 days vs weekly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lawn Care Journal sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $34.99 per year and TreeSmith sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TreeSmith holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lawn Care Journal has 393 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Lawn Care Journal ships an update every 2 days, TreeSmith weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
