# Dare vs Explode 2

Dare and Explode 2 both sit at 5.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Dare's written reviews are positive against 48% of Explode 2's. Explode 2's advantage is ratings volume (6.9K vs 1) and chart position (#16 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dare sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Explode 2 sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Dare holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Explode 2 has 6.9K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of Dare's written reviews are positive against 48% of Explode 2's.

Dare ships an update fortnightly, Explode 2 every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 27, 2026.
