# DuoCards vs Onset

DuoCards and Onset both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Onset's written reviews are positive against 63% of DuoCards's. Onset also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 11) and ads (none vs shown). DuoCards's advantage is ratings volume (1.3K vs 21). On price, rating, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DuoCards sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. Onset asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for DuoCards against 4.8 for Onset. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DuoCards has 1.3K ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 63% of DuoCards's written reviews are positive against 100% of Onset's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
