# DuoCards vs Graded Reader

The clearest difference is ads: Graded Reader at none against DuoCards's shown. Graded Reader also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). DuoCards's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (1.4K vs 1). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DuoCards sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and Graded Reader sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Graded Reader holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DuoCards has 1.4K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

DuoCards ships an update monthly, Graded Reader every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
