# Appstar vs Name Reminder

The clearest difference is price: Name Reminder at Free against Appstar's $1.99. Name Reminder also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (8 vs 1). Appstar's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.6). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Name Reminder is free to download; Appstar costs $1.99 up front. Appstar sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per month and Name Reminder sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Appstar holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Name Reminder has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Appstar ships an update every 7 months, Name Reminder every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
