# Taipu vs The Escapement

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: The Escapement at none against Taipu's 4. The Escapement also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). Taipu's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Taipu sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. The Escapement asks for nothing beyond the download.

The Escapement holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Taipu has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
