# NPTE StudyBuddy vs TherapyEd

The clearest difference is review sentiment: NPTE StudyBuddy at 67% against TherapyEd's 28%. NPTE StudyBuddy also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 5). TherapyEd's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (754 vs 25). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TherapyEd sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. NPTE StudyBuddy asks for nothing beyond the download.

TherapyEd holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TherapyEd has 754 ratings behind it against 25, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of NPTE StudyBuddy's written reviews are positive against 28% of TherapyEd's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

NPTE StudyBuddy ships an update every 2 months, TherapyEd every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
