# Podtxt vs Reading Assistant Plus

The clearest difference is update cadence: Podtxt at every 3 months against Reading Assistant Plus's every 9 months. Reading Assistant Plus's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Podtxt sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.90 per 7 days and Reading Assistant Plus sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Podtxt ships an update every 3 months, Reading Assistant Plus every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
