# Exciter vs MixPad Master's Edition

The clearest difference is monetization model: Exciter at free with in-app purchases against MixPad Master's Edition's subscription. Exciter also leads on ratings volume (21 vs 1). MixPad Master's Edition's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Exciter sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and MixPad Master's Edition sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Exciter against 5.0 for MixPad Master's Edition. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Exciter has 21 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Exciter ships an update every 3 months, MixPad Master's Edition monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
