# Desk Remote Control vs EGO Connect

The clearest difference is rating: EGO Connect at 4.8 against Desk Remote Control's 3.4. EGO Connect also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 5) and ratings volume (7.6K vs 5). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Desk Remote Control sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. EGO Connect asks for nothing beyond the download.

EGO Connect holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EGO Connect has 7.6K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Desk Remote Control's written reviews are positive against 67% of EGO Connect's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Desk Remote Control ships an update monthly, EGO Connect every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
