# CDCToGo vs Chef & Chef

The clearest difference is update cadence: Chef & Chef at every 10 days against CDCToGo's every 2 months. Chef & Chef also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

CDCToGo ships an update every 2 months, Chef & Chef every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
