# Z vs Smart Barter

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Z at none against Smart Barter's 2. Z also leads on ratings volume (433 vs 6) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). Smart Barter's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Smart Barter sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Z asks for nothing beyond the download.

Z holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Z has 433 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Z ships an update every 2 months, Smart Barter every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
