# IELTS Preparation Guide vs IELTS Prep App

The clearest difference is ads: IELTS Preparation Guide at none against IELTS Prep App's shown. IELTS Preparation Guide also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). IELTS Prep App's advantage is update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 46 months) and ratings volume (724 vs 3). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. IELTS Preparation Guide sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and IELTS Prep App sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

IELTS Preparation Guide holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IELTS Prep App has 724 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of IELTS Preparation Guide's written reviews are positive against 77% of IELTS Prep App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

IELTS Preparation Guide ships an update every 46 months, IELTS Prep App every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
