# MovieBloc vs ntPlayer

The clearest difference is rating: MovieBloc at 5.0 against ntPlayer's 4.1. MovieBloc also leads on ads (none vs shown). ntPlayer's advantage is ratings volume (86 vs 3) and update cadence (every 8 days vs monthly). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MovieBloc sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and ntPlayer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MovieBloc holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ntPlayer has 86 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 79% of MovieBloc's written reviews are positive against 72% of ntPlayer's.

MovieBloc ships an update monthly, ntPlayer every 8 days. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
