# Insecta vs Focus Habit Tracker

The clearest difference is monetization model: Focus Habit Tracker at freemium against Insecta's subscription. Focus Habit Tracker also leads on rating (4.2 vs 3.9) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). Insecta's advantage is review sentiment (40% vs 20%). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Insecta sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Focus Habit Tracker sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Focus Habit Tracker holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.9. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 145 and 57 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of Insecta's written reviews are positive against 20% of Focus Habit Tracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Insecta ships an update every 2 months, Focus Habit Tracker monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
