# ActiveCollab vs Transect

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Transect at 100% against ActiveCollab's 38%. Transect also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6). ActiveCollab's advantage is ratings volume (42 vs 2) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Transect holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ActiveCollab has 42 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 38% of ActiveCollab's written reviews are positive against 100% of Transect's.

ActiveCollab ships an update every 3 weeks, Transect every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
