# Graphing Calculator 84 vs Derive

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Graphing Calculator 84 at 84% against Derive's 33%. Graphing Calculator 84 also leads on monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and ratings volume (5.1K vs 24). Derive's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 4 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Graphing Calculator 84 sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Derive sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
