# Proton Drive vs SecureSafe

The clearest difference is rating: Proton Drive at 4.1 against SecureSafe's 1.0. Proton Drive also leads on ratings volume (1.2K vs 1) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). SecureSafe's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 9). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Proton Drive sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. SecureSafe asks for nothing beyond the download.

Proton Drive holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Proton Drive has 1.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Proton Drive ships an update fortnightly, SecureSafe every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
