# Proton Drive vs GreenSeek

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: GreenSeek at none against Proton Drive's 9. GreenSeek also leads on review sentiment (67% vs 37%) and update cadence (every 6 days vs fortnightly). Proton Drive's advantage is ratings volume (1.3K vs 8). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Proton Drive sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. GreenSeek asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.1 for Proton Drive against 4.0 for GreenSeek. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Proton Drive has 1.3K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 37% of Proton Drive's written reviews are positive against 67% of GreenSeek's.

Proton Drive ships an update fortnightly, GreenSeek every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
