# Proton Drive vs NowThis

The clearest difference is price: Proton Drive at Free against NowThis's $4.99. Proton Drive also leads on ratings volume (1.3K vs 2) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). NowThis's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.1) and review sentiment (50% vs 37%). On update cadence, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Proton Drive is free to download; NowThis costs $4.99 up front. Proton Drive sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and NowThis sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NowThis holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Proton Drive has 1.3K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 37% of Proton Drive's written reviews are positive against 50% of NowThis's.

Proton Drive ships an update fortnightly, NowThis every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on November 5, 2026.
