# Proton Drive vs ScanMyFile

The clearest difference is update cadence: ScanMyFile at daily against Proton Drive's fortnightly. Proton Drive's advantage is chart position (#201 vs unranked) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Proton Drive sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and ScanMyFile sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $7.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
