# Beta Direct vs Climb Genius

The clearest difference is rating: Climb Genius at 5.0 against Beta Direct's 4.0. Climb Genius also leads on ads (none vs shown). Beta Direct's advantage is update cadence (every 8 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (9 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Beta Direct sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Climb Genius sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Climb Genius holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Beta Direct has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Beta Direct ships an update every 8 days, Climb Genius every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
