# BerkeleyBowl vs Dining for Justice

The clearest difference is rating: BerkeleyBowl at 4.5 against Dining for Justice's 2.7. BerkeleyBowl also leads on ratings volume (225 vs 3) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Dining for Justice's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (50% vs 37%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

BerkeleyBowl holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BerkeleyBowl has 225 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 37% of BerkeleyBowl's written reviews are positive against 50% of Dining for Justice's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BerkeleyBowl ships an update every 2 months, Dining for Justice every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
