# WriteChinese vs Smart

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Smart at none against WriteChinese's 3. Smart also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). WriteChinese's advantage is ratings volume (21 vs 1). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WriteChinese sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Smart asks for nothing beyond the download.

Smart holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WriteChinese has 21 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
