# dialbird vs SMS Virtual

The clearest difference is review sentiment: SMS Virtual at 88% against dialbird's 37%. SMS Virtual also leads on ratings volume (28 vs 2). dialbird's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. dialbird sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month and SMS Virtual sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

dialbird holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SMS Virtual has 28 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 37% of dialbird's written reviews are positive against 88% of SMS Virtual's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

dialbird ships an update every 3 weeks, SMS Virtual every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
