# BlaBlaTalk vs Appstart

The clearest difference is rating: BlaBlaTalk at 5.0 against Appstart's 4.2. Appstart's advantage is review sentiment (86% vs 52%) and ratings volume (440 vs 6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

BlaBlaTalk holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Appstart has 440 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 52% of BlaBlaTalk's written reviews are positive against 86% of Appstart's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BlaBlaTalk ships an update every 4 weeks, Appstart monthly. Both last shipped on October 16, 2026.
