# File Cube vs Folder

The clearest difference is ads: File Cube at none against Folder's shown. File Cube also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 14.1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. File Cube sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Folder sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

File Cube ships an update every 6 days, Folder every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on September 15, 2026 and September 21, 2026 respectively.
