# GoodRec vs Crossbar

The clearest difference is update cadence: GoodRec at fortnightly against Crossbar's every 5 months. GoodRec also leads on ratings volume (14K vs 2). Crossbar's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 84%) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for GoodRec against 5.0 for Crossbar. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GoodRec has 14K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 84% of GoodRec's written reviews are positive against 100% of Crossbar's.

GoodRec ships an update fortnightly, Crossbar every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
