# Locals.com vs BBOTHEAPP

The clearest difference is rating: Locals.com at 4.7 against BBOTHEAPP's 3.0. Locals.com also leads on ratings volume (42K vs 4) and chart position (#176 vs unranked). BBOTHEAPP's advantage is review sentiment (71% vs 53%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Locals.com sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and BBOTHEAPP sells 9 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Locals.com holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Locals.com has 42K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of Locals.com's written reviews are positive against 71% of BBOTHEAPP's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Locals.com ships an update every 4 weeks, BBOTHEAPP fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and September 16, 2026 respectively.
