# Locals.com vs Thurgood

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Thurgood at none against Locals.com's 12. Thurgood also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Locals.com's advantage is ratings volume (42K vs 7) and chart position (#141 vs unranked). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Locals.com sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Thurgood asks for nothing beyond the download.

Thurgood holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Locals.com has 42K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of Locals.com's written reviews are positive against 50% of Thurgood's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
