# Locals.com vs Dang Free

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Dang Free at 100% against Locals.com's 53%. Dang Free also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 12). Locals.com's advantage is ratings volume (42K vs 7) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). On price, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Locals.com sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Dang Free asks for nothing beyond the download.

Locals.com holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Locals.com has 42K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of Locals.com's written reviews are positive against 100% of Dang Free's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Locals.com ships an update every 4 weeks, Dang Free every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
