# Virtual Tarot vs Shadow Work

The clearest difference is update cadence: Virtual Tarot at every 4 days against Shadow Work's every 3 weeks. Virtual Tarot also leads on ratings volume (36 vs 6) and device support (3 vs 1). Shadow Work's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Virtual Tarot sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Shadow Work sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Shadow Work holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Virtual Tarot has 36 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Virtual Tarot ships an update every 4 days, Shadow Work every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
