# SoundClass vs Spy Hearing

The clearest difference is monetization model: SoundClass at free with in-app purchases against Spy Hearing's subscription. Spy Hearing's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.8 vs 4.4). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SoundClass sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Spy Hearing sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Spy Hearing holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spy Hearing has 60 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two.

SoundClass ships an update every 10 days, Spy Hearing every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
