# VTube Studio vs HypeRate

The clearest difference is rating: VTube Studio at 4.6 against HypeRate's 2.7. VTube Studio also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (2.6K vs 25). HypeRate's advantage is update cadence (every 10 days vs every 5 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VTube Studio sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and HypeRate sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VTube Studio holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VTube Studio has 2.6K ratings behind it against 25, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 60% of VTube Studio's written reviews are positive against 52% of HypeRate's.

VTube Studio ships an update every 5 weeks, HypeRate every 10 days. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
