# Take Apart 3D vs Vmod

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Vmod at 1.5K against Take Apart 3D's 3. Vmod also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (63% vs 50%). Take Apart 3D's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Take Apart 3D holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Vmod has 1.5K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Take Apart 3D's written reviews are positive against 63% of Vmod's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Take Apart 3D ships an update every 2 months, Vmod fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
