# 1Password vs EE Cyber Security

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: EE Cyber Security at none against 1Password's 6. EE Cyber Security also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). 1Password's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 8 months). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 1Password sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. EE Cyber Security asks for nothing beyond the download.

EE Cyber Security holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 1Password has 44K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of 1Password's written reviews are positive against 21% of EE Cyber Security's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

1Password ships an update fortnightly, EE Cyber Security every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
