# Inner Monk vs TAN Direction

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Inner Monk at none against TAN Direction's 52. Inner Monk also leads on review sentiment (75% vs 50%) and device support (3 vs 1). TAN Direction's advantage is update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 38 months). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TAN Direction sells 14 one-off in-app purchases. Inner Monk asks for nothing beyond the download.

TAN Direction holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 15 and 9 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Inner Monk's written reviews are positive against 50% of TAN Direction's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Inner Monk ships an update every 38 months, TAN Direction every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
