# BeamX vs SeaPeople

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: BeamX at none against SeaPeople's 8. BeamX also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks) and review sentiment (100% vs 90%). SeaPeople's advantage is ratings volume (1.2K vs 4) and chart position (#90 vs unranked). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SeaPeople sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. BeamX asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for BeamX against 4.9 for SeaPeople. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SeaPeople has 1.2K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of BeamX's written reviews are positive against 90% of SeaPeople's.

BeamX ships an update weekly, SeaPeople every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
