# Coffee Book vs Tip

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Tip at none against Coffee Book's 9. Tip also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs monthly) and review sentiment (100% vs 90%). Coffee Book's advantage is ratings volume (83 vs 4). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Coffee Book sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Tip asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Coffee Book against 4.8 for Tip. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Coffee Book has 83 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 90% of Coffee Book's written reviews are positive against 100% of Tip's.

Coffee Book ships an update monthly, Tip every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
